Carol has been making pottery for over 32 years, and loves to make useful items with a whimsical edge for home and garden, in her studio. She loves to produce new ranges for each season and her Christmas gnomes are legendary – luckily they are available in the Christmas in July Market as well as December.

Canberra Circle of Women is an Incorporated Organisation which makes a difference to women and girls globally. We achieve this through a range of programs, supports and assistance to reduce poverty:
- Days for Girls Program: Reduces period poverty through the production and distribution of DfG Kits, education on reproductive health and breaking stigma about periods
- Learning Circle: Supports education for children to keep them in school, providing education materials such as stationery items
- Sewing & Knitting Circles: Sews and knits clothing for children
- Provision of bras to girls and women for health and dignity, supporting new mothers with clothing and supplies.

Jan started making Barbie clothes for her grand-daughter as these were not available in the shops unless you bought another Barbie doll, when it was suggested by a craft friend that Jan should produce them for the markets. Jan has been making macrame items for about four years, and really enjoys trying different knots and patterns.

Penelope Shilling is a boutique label specialising in high-quality women’s shirts and pants in natural fibres. The label was established in Sydney in 1995. A wide range of other garments and hand-crafted accessories is also available. The fabrics — cottons, linens, silks and wool — are all sourced in Australia, and all of the garments and accessories are hand-made in Canberra by Penelope Shilling personally. The label enjoys a reputation for quality of product and service, classic styling, and distinctive fabrics that are not generally available in the stores.
